We were most inspired by the opening of the thriller memento as it showed a murder seen happening in reverse. This opening left us with confusion as we weren't sure how or why the murder happened or what the killer's intentions were which created a lot of suspense for the spectator. We are planning to film our film as a murder scene and show it in reverse in a very similar way to memento to create suspense. We believe that showing a death right at the start of the film will interset the spectator more as it is a very exciting scene to have right at the start of the film and it may also be quite shocking to the viewer.
We are planning to show a man drinking a glass of wine a dying possibly from poison in the wine however, we would like to show this scene in reverse and we are also thinking of using some slow motion in it. We think that this will leave the spectator with a sense of confuison, excitement and curiosity and we believe that it will give the sequence a sense of enigma.
